This original painting was painted in May 2022, from the iconic photograph of the first ascent of Everest, during the 1953 British Mount Everest expedition. The photograph was taken by a 34 year old Edmund Hillary and shows a 39 year old sherpa Tenzing Norgay standing on the summit.
